Technology: WLAN Management
The Bandspeed AirMaestro architecture distributes decision making and collaboration across all AirMaestro Access Points. There is no need for a centralized hardware controller.
To provide an easy vehicle to monitor and manage the AirMaestro network, Bandspeed has created the WLAN Monitor Console and WLAN Management Console for Windows® PCs. From any PC on the network or on the Internet, you can securely connect directly into the cluster and monitor and/or manage the AirMaestro cluster.

This screenshot shows the WLAN Management Console’s network map. It is a visual representation of the Wi-Fi environment.
The software was designed to be intuitive and easy to use. The network map provides a dynamic view of the wireless network, the AirMaestro Access Points, interfering Access Points in the environment, Rogue APs in the network, and clients connected to the cluster. A bitmap can be imported to provide a more realistic view of your AirMaestro network and help to locate interfering and/or Rogue APs.

Both the WLAN Monitor Console and WLAN Management Console allow you to launch the built-in dual-band spectrum analyzer to see the RF environment surrounding any AP. The spectrum analyzer will even classify known interfering devices such as cordless phones and microwave ovens.

In this screenshot, the spectrum analyzer has detected cordless phone interference around Channel 1. It also shows other RF interference in both bands.
The WLAN Management Software has easy to use wizards that make deploying, editing, and deleting wireless services (BSSIDs) extremely easy.
