Technology: Cluster Architecture
The Bandspeed AirMaestro Virtual Controller Access Points work together to create a single, manageable cluster. The unique architecture does not require a costly or complex hardware controller. Instead, they work together and create a distributed architecture intelligence that is shared amongst all of the AirMaestro Access Points. This architecture eliminates any single points of failure and reduces the requirement of an additional hardware controller.
Using the WLAN Monitor Console or WLAN Management Console for Windows®, you can log into the cluster architecture and immediately monitor and/or manage all of the AirMaestro APs in the cluster. At any time, additional AirMaestro APs can be added into the network and joined into the cluster.
The cluster architecture provides the inter-Access Point collaboration required for features like fast-roaming, load balancing, transmit power control to reduce co-interference, and centralized and remote management.
Before the Bandspeed AirMaestro solution, enterprise-class wireless networks required complex components from multiple vendors. Bandspeed has created an architecture that eliminates this and provides multiple features into a cost-effective and easy to deploy and manage solution.

This diagram shows how three separate components of a typical enterprise-class Wi-Fi® network are integrated into one solution from Bandspeed, the AirMaestro solution. |
